Our Therapeutic Services

1

Therapeutic Consultation

VATN’s therapeutic consultation service brings together professionals across disciplines to assess needs, design and refine individualized support plans, and provide expert guidance for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their caregivers. Consultants focus on assessment, planning, and caregiver training—helping teams implement effective strategies in home, school, day program, and community settings so supports are consistent and sustainable.

2

Adolescent Behavior Therapy

Our adolescent behavior therapy program uses evidence-based practices, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and applied behavior-analytic approaches, to address social, emotional, and behavioral challenges for teens and young adults. Services are tailored to help adolescents build communication, self-advocacy, regulation, and daily living skills that support their transition from school-based systems into more independent, values-aligned adult life.

3

Individual & Caregiver Training

VATN offers robust training for individuals and family caregivers through our Individual and Family/Caregiver Training (IFCT) program. These classes and coaching sessions provide practical skills, education, and ongoing support so caregivers can confidently implement interventions, promote independence, and foster meaningful progress in home and community settings. IFCT topics include areas such as sex education and body rights, adaptive equipment use, emotional flexibility, and IEP advocacy.
